Ganging
Up
4-2-04
Okay folks, I went to the doc as scheduled, and it all turned
out just the way we figured from the phone call. To the best of
our ability to make the statement, based on the tests, blood counts,
chemo and rituxan regimen, and so on, I'm in remission.
Of course,
I couldn't do it alone the first time, and I couldn't have done
it alone this time. It took a small (but vicious!
)
gang who just just love to beat on cancer till it runs home crying!
With their relentless support and medical expertise, that bully
has packed it in! Cancer has left the building!
As you
might imagine, I have a great deal of admiration for these people,
and they're just plain likable, to boot! Here they are in a group
picture just before I left their office the other day with the
great news of my remission:

Fantastic job everyone!
I can't thank you enough!
So now I'm free to run barefoot in the fields like a carefree
puppy again, and all that kind of stuff. All I have to do is keep
those symptoms in the back of my mind and watch for them to turn
up. I expect it'll be quite awhile though, so don't expect me
to focus on them much. I've just got better and more fun things
to do, especially with summer coming!
I've got an appointment to pop back in and visit with the doc
again in about two months, just to keep a check on things. In
the meantime, my updates will likely be about new cartoons I come
up with, updates on my hair growing back, and how I'm feeling
better and stronger every day. I'll be sure to get a picture of
me leaping over a tall building in a single bound when I get up
to that point!
Thanks again to everyone everywhere for all the kind words and
support! If you don't know it yet, you're part of my 'gang' too,
and I'm glad to have you with me!
